How tidy is your desk

Is it a shit-tip or tidier than tidy?

Have you got anything fun and diferent to play with on breaks or is it all functional?

I just bought a new desk and its in a bit of a state at the moment, until I re-sort it.

We are remote and paperless so that helps, I don't have bits of paper floating about needing dealing with.

Very tidy and organised, I can't work in a mess...looking at you colleague next to me Grin...

My job has a ridiculous amount of paperwork so it's not easy but imperative for my state of mind, we also have a clear desk policy for GDPR due to type of job so keeping on top of it makes it easier.

DramaAlpaca · 07/03/2024 15:37

In my current job we try to be paperless so my desk is immaculate. Last job was the opposite, so.much paperwork it was hard to stay tidy. I hate a messy desk so organised chaos was the best I could manage.

Mine's an absolute shit tip. It's in the spare room and doubles as a general dumping ground...
I'd love to be a minimalist!

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 07/03/2024 15:44

Mine is currently a tip. It gets like that during the teaching day. Sometimes I tidy it up after my last lesson, sometimes I don't have time! At the moment it has <deep breath> board markers, a laptop, textbooks, worksheets, completed vocab tests, a pencil, a cupcake, a lost earring, someone else's laptop case, a bottle of water, a mostly drunk cup of tea, a plastic bag, a crochet hook, a wooden box and a small teddy bear on it.Shock I think I need to tidy it up right now...

Midnlghtrain · 07/03/2024 15:44

Mine is incredibly tidy, I can't focus otherwise 😂

The only out of place item on it currently is a cat!

Redshoeblueshoe · 07/03/2024 15:46

If I could see mine I'd tell you.

I've got two screens, a laptop on a pile of books to raise the top to the same level as my screens (its already on a riser), an a4 pad, my planner, some hair scrunchies, a coaster and mug, lip balm, nail oil, nail file, glasses cloth, my phone, a mirror, my budget notebook, passport and debit card, water bottle, trackball mouse, normal mouse, usb extender, 2 sets of wireless earbuds and a desk mouse mat. and some electrical crap on the shelves underneath.

I really should have bought the desk that had drawers 😂

Empty. Except for keyboard, mouse and pen pot.

Screens are on arms and not "on" the desk, but "floating". PC base is under desk.

Can't stand crap all over the desk...it's all crammed in the drawers 😂

Yes, I'll get some baskets for the shelves.
