Unexpected full day to myself. What shall I do!!

My expected work for the day has fallen through so find myself at home, kids and husband out of the house until 5 with a whole day to do something nice.

Done exercise already, nice lunch is in the fridge. Don't particularly want to go out (it's cold and wet). No reading as I do that in the evening before bed, I cleaned the house already for the client that cancelled. So what??

Do you have any other Hobbes? Sewing for example? You could start a new project.
Bake a cake
line up a couple of films to watch on Netflix or go to the cinema
sort out the kitchen cupboards

Hmm yes actually I do needle felting. That's a good plan to kill an hour. Any more ideas!?

I'd do an online hobby class - drawing, crochet, what ever you have the materials at home for.

If you enjoy cooking, you could make something you normally wouldn't have time for - French onion soup with onions cooked for hours became a lock down staple for me. You can share with your family to remind them how wonderful you are before Mothers day.

Box sets are prefect for days like this - maybe a Miss Marple marathon

And if you have an open fire or stove, I'd light it, I hardly ever bother if it's just me, even though I really like to sit and watch the flames.

Not going out in the cold and rain is a bit treat in itself. I'm on a bus into work, really happy for anyone who's not!

Killer sodoku. Depending on difficulty, I've taken an hour over one and I find them immensely satisfying.

Spend an hour decluttering?

Lorelaigilmore88 · 07/03/2024 09:10

If i was in your position I would go back to bed and have a lovely long nap and then spend the rest of the day drinking tea and watching stuff on Netflix....

MooFroo · 07/03/2024 09:11

Book a last min massage or beauty treatment
swimming pool or a one day gym pass if a posh place near you with sauna and steam room

home pampering?
garden centre visit?
I like going to cafe with a book for a while

any friends you can/want to catch up with in person?

mynameiscalypso · 07/03/2024 09:11

Nap and Netflix and snacks

ellesbellesxxx · 07/03/2024 09:12

Oh wow lucky you!!!!!

Curl up with a book, bit of deep cleaning cupboards, sorting through admin, cafe… so many possibilities!

I’m the same today 😊, cold and wet here too. I’m still in my pjs watching tv, I’m going to get dressed soon, clean the bathroom, possibly sort out my wardrobe and drawers and I’m going to look through my recipe books and cook something new and hopefully delicious for tea. 😍 enjoy your day

Long shower or bath with your favourite products
Read then nap

I was just about to start a thread about this as my day to myself is tomorrow, only until 3 though so I'm sure the day will fly by. I also need ideas that don't require money but I may look into an online hobby class anyway, that sounds good!

I don't want to watch TV or do hosuework, I'm forever decluttering/tidying/cleaning when I get a spare moment so that's not happening tomorrow.

I do need to keep busy though as I can feel my anxiety is a little higher than usual, I'll just be fretting if I have too much time on my hands.
