Getting the pangram first helps a lot as it really restricts where the theme words can be. I feel they could probably go with a slightly larger grid to make it a bit more challenging though I may just have been lucky the last few days. It might be one of those tippy puzzles where some days it feels impossible and others it feels too easy!

I also switched to my laptop for a quick experiment - it appears that if a word has a double letter you can link them in either order.
