There is a TUI Boeing 737 North of Orkney that left Leeds and is heading back there. Anyone got any idea what's going on?

I wonder if the RAF jets above Elgin are going to intercept it? Oh they've just disappeared of the radar. Strange

I'd guess it's some sort of training flight? Departure LBA and destination LBA with a number of loops as part of the flight off the Shetland Islands

Maybe a practice flight? It doesn't look like it was ever mean to stop, just Leeds, head north, back to Leeds.

Perhaps it's a training flight or something like that. It doesn't seem like anything is wrong, as in, it's not turned back. It's actually scheduled to depart and return to LBA. It's even listed on the arrivals page of the airport website.

Was it a trip to see the northern lights? I'm in the NE and we've had them this week

I know it's off topic but I'm a very nervous flyer and these threads actually help me because I can see for myself that planes are just doing their thing/training etc

You wouldn't see much northern lights from the cabin windows.
