Is this new? I've never seen it before. How do you thank someone one a thread? Are posters thanking everyone who commented on the thread? Is it the same as liking a comment on Fb or similar 🤔. So many questions.

The thanks button is inoffensive but an email listing every one is just annoying.

Why not change it to a ‘like’ with a counter?

There's a little icon under each post that says thanks. You just click it on any post you want to thank. I doubt people are thanking everyone. Just the posts they agree with but you can do whatever you want to.

I don't care too much about those, other than the Edit feature. I really wish the app had that!

For me, I'm mostly on my phone, app works better, and easier to navigate. There is so much pointless rubbish on the website.

I like it, so many times over the years I'd wish there had have been a "like" or a "laughter" response button for when you don't want to go through the rigmarole of quoting, especially if you have nothing else to add to a thread & yes the fact that it's semi anonymous means it's not just a "like for likes" popularity contest

I don't know, really. I just thought the app was the was the best thing to do when I was downloading apps onto my phone. What do other people do when using MN on their phones? Do you use the website?

Yes, just the website. I'm not sure why I'd need an app to use a forum. I can cope with ignoring small ad banners in exchange for having the proper functionality.

Based purely on this thread: thanks, edit, votes.

There seem to be pretty regular comments on threads along the lines of "oh I can't see/do that because I'm on the app" so I tune out the posts about its deficiencies.

Considering the clamour for an edit function I'm bemused it's not on the app.
