What's the job market like at the moment?

I know it's a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question and it varies by field but I am having to look for a new job due to redundancy. Mid level/mid career, non managerial in content management/editorial. There seem to be a lot of jobs going, but some are too marketing-oriented for me considering I don't have direct marketing experience or qualifications in it, although i may remedy the latter in the coming year.

A lot of people are saying it's a tough market generally at the moment and I'm wondering what other people's experiences are. I've only started having interviews recently and I'm not a person who is brilliant at them , but I had a fairly promising one yesterday only for a not particularly exciting role - I'm wondering if I just ought to go for it if offered and thus be sure of getting something before my notice period comes to an end, even if some more interesting things might have applications out. Hence interested to know if people feel this is not a time to be super-choosy if you aren't an interview star/don't have some very sought-after skillset. Edited to add - I'm based in London.
