Teens and holidays

Our girls (15 and 16) are now too old for most family rooms abroad and 2 bedroom villas on all inclusive resorts are hard to find. We did find a family suite last year but it was far from ideal with just a partition separating sleeping areas and of course we all want a bit of privacy. So this year we are going to go down the 2 room route, how do you all work it, 2 adult one child or do you give the kids their own room and you have yours, this would be my preference (my girls are very sensible) but as resorts can’t guarantee we will be next to each other they could easily be a 5 minute (or more walk away) and not sure if this feels inappropriate. How do other families with teens work their accommodation? Hardly a big problem I know I am just curious and fretting a little. I have never left them home alone at night before but of course they are home alone
during the day on occasions. Thanks

At that age I'd prob sway towards the 2 room route and if they are generally sensible I'd let the girls share. Some hotels can't guarantee the rooms will be together, unless you pay for this, so I'd pay to make it happen.

Two rooms. They will be fine.

We’ve always done two rooms since they were little. We used to book interconnecting rooms but now they’re older we don’t worry.

2 rooms. Absolutely not having the girls sharing with a parent and totally fine if they’re not next to each other. They’re not babies

I think there's a fair number of aparthotels with AI options around. It's just the search functions don't let you filter on them which makes them annoyingly hard to find. It probably helps to stick to very mainstream touristy places. When our kids were little we found them in Mallorca, Menorca and Lanzarote.

Also sometimes hotels are advertised at half board or whatever but you can upgrade to AI either when you book, or when you get to the hotel.

Now, with teens age 14+ we are embracing villa holidays. Having your own personal pool and sun loungers is bliss, and eating out is easier now.

We’ve always gone with interconnected rooms, so much easier. We have had 2 bedroom apart hotels.

Let the girls share and I wouldn't be worried about having neighbouring rooms. You and your partner deserve this to feel like a holiday!

2 rooms, but you also keep a key, even if not next door to you, insist on same floor. I emailed the hotel direct and always got what I asked for.
