Starting my shopping list for Friday and I have zero inspiration on what to buy/cook. My children aren’t fussy which should make things easier but in reality I am bored and lacking inspiration.

This week we have the following meals planned:-
Fri:- Macaroni cheese with spinach mixed through and tender stem broccoli on the side.
Sat:- Steak, chips, peas, grilled mushrooms and cherry tomatoes.
Sun:- Sticky Teriyaki chicken, egg fried rice, stir fried baby corn, spring onions and broccoli, spring rolls and prawn crackers.
Mon:- Shepherds pie, green beans and broccoli.
Tues:- Chicken pie, mash, cauliflower, carrots and savoy cabbage.
Wed:- Spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and side salad.
Thurs:- Jacket potato, beans, cheese and 2 pork sausages.

I LOVE Meal plan threads!

I tend to start on Saturdays so this is ours beginning last weekend;

Saturday- slow cooked gammon, jacket potatos with sour cream and dill and honey carrots.

Sunday- Chicken, ham and leek pie with vegetables

Monday- Freezer surprise (which ended up being baked salmon, macaroni cheese bites and broccoli)

Tonight- McDonalds for the children, steak with creamed spinach and mashed carrot and swede for me

Wednesday- Spicy baked meatballs with green rice and roasted peppers. (I put preapred meatballs in an oven tray with onions, garlic, tinned tomatoes and paprika and chili. The rice is mixed with loads of parsley and dill. )

Thursday - Chicken thighs stuffed with sweet paprika garlic and butter under the skin and served with tempura broccoli and whatever other vegetables I can find

Friday- chicken noodle soup.

Alot of it is using pre-prepared stuff like the creamed spinach (M&S) and meatballs and macaroni bites.

We have also started a routine of having cheese and fruit every night for pudding. I am loving it. And it gets an extra 2 types of fruit (mainly apples and grapes or strawberries) into the DCs as well- one of whom is generally a fruit and vegetable refuser.

Thurs - enchiladas (El Paso cheesy one)

Tonight - spicy tomato rice with mixed veg and either chicken or chopped chipolatas thrown in
Wednesday - chicken salad wraps
Thursday - prawn and chicken stir fry
Friday - jalapeño and cheddar hot dogs with chips, or takeaway if we’re feeling really lazy!

Mon - southern "fried" (breadcrumbed) chicken with chips and salad
Tues - chicken & brocolli pesto pasta

We have; (In no particular order)

  • avgolemono with garlic bread
  • BBQ chicken legs with broccoli, sweetcorn, wedges and bread and butter
  • meatloaf with mash and veg (M&S meatloaf)
  • jacket potatos with whatever filling people like- I like to mash mine and ix with bacon bits, cheese and chives
  • tacos

I have been wanting to make kidneys cooked in sherry and cream and serve with rice for ages now but that is SO not going to fly with Dcs or DH so will wait for a time when I can indulge myself.
