Sore breasts, not breastfeeding. What to do?

5 days postpartum and my breasts are sore & feeling really hard. I've got a supportive bra on but it stills feels really uncomfortable 😞

I also feel really feverish & my body is aching all over.

I don't know how to relieve my breasts as I don't want to stimulate more milk production.

What can I do?

There is a medication you can be prescribed to get your milk dried up.
Old fashioned but I've heard it's helpful: cabbage leaves.
Also, Lansinoh make a cooling ice pack with 'pearls' in that you put in the fridge.

If you are aching and feverish I would speak to a doctor. I was same and thought I was fine but ended up not at all fine. I think you can relieve the pressure but letting a little some out in a hot shower, massaging your breasts with you knuckles, in a forward motion towards nipples. I don't think this will stimulate production, but will allow relief and help to unblock ducts. However, you may need an antibiotic in addition to this as feverish/aches suggests actual infection.

Best thing is put a supportive bra on and don't touch your boobs, you want to dry the milk up , you font want to don't stimulate it. If you don't touch them it'll dry up within a day or so. It's an awful feeling isn't it. If you feel ill though you might need anti biotics, did you start to breast feed? If you start and suddenly stop you can get an infection 🙂
