Friends for dinner.... brother too?

No, not eating them Hannibal lecter style!
Having friends round for dinner, I've known the female friend a couple of years but never met her hubby as he works away a lot

My hubby has never met either of them, this is a long awaited 'double date'

I now find out my brother is coming up.that weekend for mother's day
He usually stays with us.

I'm thinking it would be a bit cheeky to invite him to dinner as it may spoil the dynamic?

He can stay at my mums that night.

He sprung it on me suddenly when this has been arranged a while.

Am I right to just keep to the original plan or should I consider inviting brother to the dinner party?

He has never met this couple, they are fairly new friends and I've never met her hubby myself.

I'd ask your brother to stay at your Mum's, you've already got plans.

I wouldn't want to go if I were your brother, I'd feel like a spare part. I'm sure he can arrange plans elsewhere.
