Interview- panicking!

I've got an interview this afternoon and for some reason I'm panicking.
The job is similar to what I am doing. I know my stuff. Argh.
What are good tips to not panic?

I have an interview today too. Nearly had a breakdown over it this morning and was adamant that I wasn't going to go. But have now written some notes and am practising them out aloud. But I have no idea what questions I will be asked as I have never worked in this field before.

Try not to panic. You're interviewing them as much as they're interviewing you.

Deep breaths. I interview people all the time and it's normal for candidates to be a bit nervous!

Try and think about what you want to get across, and some examples that you can provide to questions you may be asked. I find it helpful to make notes and read through them before the interview...even if it doesn't come up it helps me feel prepared.

Research the company and think of a couple of questions you can ask. It always helps to try to have a two way conversation and a good interviewer will try to bring that out of you rather than just firing questions at you. My biggest red flags for candidates are when they've done no research into our organisation or have no questions for me at the end of the interview.

Also, remember that you're interviewing them too in a way and you want to try to work out whether this is somewhere you'd like to be part of. Just relax and take some deep breaths before you go in, I'm sure you'll be fine.

How did I go @Stressedgiraffe ?

Stressedgiraffe · 04/03/2024 20:22

I think it went well. Lots of nodding at what I was saying. A bit of laughter. Lovely people easy to talk to.
There would be a short informal 3rd stage.
So fingers crossed
