In Cornwall for a week with my mum and daughter. Have been really excited about this for ages as I haven't had a holiday in years.
It's not going well. Daughter is 2.5 and I know kids that age are pushing boundaries and she's obviously unsettled by the change but she doesn't want to do ANYTHING.
Took her to the beach and she's happy for ten minutes then wants to go home/hungry/juice etc. Obviously I take snacks and drinks, she's just nagging me.
It's a lovely place set up for young families with a pool/play areas and animals. Pissing with rain today so thought an hour in the indoor pool would be fun. Again, excited about going then just wanted to cling to me in the water, not interested in toys, floats, jumping in which she normally loves.
On top of that she's being really annoying about food. Won't just sit down and eat when we do.
I'm just fed up. I was so looking forward to some quality time with her and I feel deflated.
I know I'm being unreasonable and toddlers are a law unto themselves but was it too much to ask for a nice time?
