Went out for a run last night. Bought a loaf from the corner shop. Now, no sign of it. Have looked everywhere and we live in a small house. WFT is the bread. My toast monster just woke up and is hungry.

Did you definitely bring it back from the shop?

With your trainers or running kit? Laundry basket?

Outside the front door on your front step (you put it down to get your keys out).

Or could it be outside your door if you put it down to open the door after your run? Still in the bag you carried it in?

Do you have a dog? Mine loves bread. We have found baguettes hidden behind sofa cushions before now

Oh this is hilarious! (sorry). I do this sort of thing all the bloody time. I once found that I had put the salt mill ...in the fridge!
