My sleep is all over the place.
Woke at 5 am yesterday, was in bed at 8pm, and now wide awake

Stressful time at work, and peri not aiding in being well rested.

Also had this weird cold virus for 2 weeks!

Sadly this looks like an African Pygmy hedgehog imported and bred for the pet market. Not native to UK.

They often die due to improper care.

She is dressing it up in clothes and stupid sandals. :(

Luckily it doesn't make a sound! Dh is going to have a word today. But yes...Next step is environmental health and RSPCA.

Poor dog! If he or she is quiet, I'd imagine some sort of sighthound [?] Whippet, Lurcher, Saluki?, Greyhound type
These are sometimes kept outdoors if used for ''Working'' - but it is very sad for them to be isolated.

No it's a pocket bully. Cropped ears. No interaction with anyone...kennel far too small. Why they have it is beyond me

LadyEloise1 · 04/03/2024 04:47

I have no idea why I'm awake. Sad

OctopusRule · 04/03/2024 04:49

Been awake since 3.30, given up come downstairs with book and cuppa.

my reasons are:

  • Drank red wine (only 1 1/2 glasses) and have horrific headache and reflux. I am slowly realising I have to give up alcohol.
  • Worrying about my ds who has OCD. So so worried.
  • Feel like I made a complete tit of myself suggesting a drink with a group of school mums who clearly already had plans. The stupid thing is I don’t actually care as don’t like them anyway. It just won’t go out of my head.
DilemmaDelilah · 04/03/2024 05:05

Woke up cold, needed to go for a wee, got colder, tried to go back to sleep, realised I was hungry, went to get a fleece to put on the bed, fresh hot water bottle, cup of tea and a marmite sandwich.

It's a fairly regular thing for me to wake up around 2am and to be awake for 2 or 3 hours due to medication which has given me a second menopause. Not much fun, but at least I only work 3 days a week!

I'm sitting in the living room with my dog on the ground floor... Looking at YouTube videos of hedgehog noises like a sane person to try and make myself feel better 🙈 I've left a light on and doubt I'll be getting much sleep! I've never heard anything like it, it was like darth vader breathing out on the glass

We had hedgehogs snuffling outside our window once - they are so noisy! I was really surprised by how loud they are, so try not to worry x

Poor dog. Bet these horrible owners are planning on breeding it. {Is it a female?}
edit..maybe contact a ''bully specific'' rescue..they might be better than RSPCA who can do nothing if the animal has food and water.

oakleaffy · 04/03/2024 05:40

@AuntieMarys You could post in ''the Doghouse'' on here about this dog- some people may have a better idea as to what to do.

It's clearly not a kind way to keep any dog - alone like that.

Toooldtoworry · 04/03/2024 05:54

Clients case running through my head, next door wanting their party wall survey and the fact I'm going to have to be nice to them for the forseeable.

I had a baby at 1am! Best reason ever. I went from 4cm to out in ten minutes, quite a surprise all round! She’s gorgeous.

Because I heard heavy breathing outside my window and got really scared. I looked outside and nothing is there so now I'm googling what animal I'm hoping it could be 😳

If you're in the country I'll bet my socks it's a badger. We thought we were being stalked/cased by house-breakers or something until we installed a motion sensor light and caught the bugger red-pawed digging up the bulbs sounding like a psychopath.

There's countryside nearish, within a mile or 2 maybe but a residential area. I even sat up watching the camera but it only covers part of the property and nothing ventured there. If it was anything other than an animal I'd have seen some sort of movement when I looked out while it was happening wouldn't I?

I'm up for a second night with my DS. He's coughing relentlessly. I'm a single parent so it falls all on me and I have work tomorrow. So tired, think my eyeballs might fall out

Oncetwicethreetimesalady · 05/03/2024 05:45

@MotherofWomen congrats on your new baby! And 10 min labour is amazing (my labours were both over 24 hours, so i can’t compute that it can happen so fast for some women)
I’ve been awake hours. Feeling like I’ve eaten chilli which can make me very edgy but I actually haven’t. Was so tired during the day I had a nap which was evidently a mistake. Will try to push through tomorrow (ie today) but don’t think it’s going to be a very productive day.
on the bright side I’ve been doing some face yoga to pass the time so maybe I will look younger regardless of the lack of sleep! 😂

Feeding my 9 day old. Now waking at least every 2hrs to feed her trying to get her weight back up. So far she’s gained 100g in 2 days 🤞 for next weigh in

@Alwaysconfuddled

Best reason to be up in the night!!

well done Mini Always for gaining weight 🫶🏻

she must have her Mummy's looks 💕🌷

Gibs0nGirl · 05/03/2024 06:45

Went to bed with my teen DD at 1am: she has ADHD and struggles to get to sleep.

At 6am my son's alarm went off two hours before he needs to be up.

Ten minutes ago the cat brought in a beautiful wee ( but dead) mouse and is now wandering the house crying for it because I chucked it out the door.

SpringSprungALeak · 05/03/2024 06:47

@FizzyStream

i love flight Radar & often watch flights arriving for friend who is a taxi driver (it helps him with when to go into the terminal carpark) etc. but it stresses me out to watch when loved ones are flying (menopausal anxiety!!)
