I'm possibly going to be looking for a new job soon. I've been very happy with the same employer for 16 years and so haven't got an up to date CV and it's a long time since I was job hunting.
I imagine the format for CVs has changed somewhat since I was last in the market for a job. All the jobs I've been looking at don't have an application form as such - just a short form with name, phone number etc and upload CV. So I'm assuming that the CV needs to be shit hot to get a look in. Any hints / tips to make mine stand out a bit? I'm well into my 40s and need all the help I can get 😂!
Thanks!

  • There are good templates on ms word
  • tailor it to the role - pick out keywords from the job description and make sure you’re covering them in your skills and experience
  • use metrics, numbers, etc to quantify your achievements and show impact
  • do not just describe tasks

If there is a recruiter that specialises in your career field, they often help write CVs.

Thanks both - not a high-flying job so no specialist recruiter etc. It's just general admin type stuff.
