Prescription glasses - online retailers for lenses only

I’d like to look at replacing just the varifocal prescription lenses in a favourite pair of frames - has anyone done this using an online retailer?

As they are varifocals almost all High St opticians charge £££ for them. Asda quoted me about £80 about a year ago.

A few of them do a reglaze but tbh I’d be wary. Varifocal lenses vary in quality, the cheaper the lens the smaller the reading distance. Also varifocal lenses need measurements of where you pupils sit so that you are looking through the correct bit of the lens to be able to see distance, intermediate & reading areas clearly. Glasses direct say “from” £50 so likely it will be a bit more. Asdas £80 seems the best bet as there isn’t much price difference and measurements would be taken by trained staff.
