Inspired by a post earlier today I am creating a little space for happy news as I spend far too much time on MN and always feel it brings me down. I can't think of one right now so hoping yours will start to pull me in the right direction

My DS who finished uni last year and has been home and applying for jobs since has just been offered one that’s exactly what he wanted. It was lovely to see how happy he was when he told us. The repeated “We really liked you, but…” was getting him down. 🙂

Dh away for weekend and I just finished watching Wonka with youngest 2 at home. They saw it already and have been playing the songs for weeks. I could sing every word. We snuggled under blankets with our dog and sang along together. I've decided I'm going to keep this as one of my happy moments to recall and cheer me up when life gets me down.

Oh such good news @MissedItByThisMuch well done to your DS!

Our 15 month Collie pup is getting better at coming back when I call her. Such a relief!

Izzy24 · 02/03/2024 22:45

I cracked an egg today and there wasn’t a yolk!

EatSprayGlove · 02/03/2024 22:48

Go @Birchvalley puppy! This is a hard phase but it sounds like you're doing brilliantly!

My 8 year old with profound special needs has just picked up a book and started reading from it. He read out a joke to make us laugh. We were told he’d be illiterate for life ❤️

Whaaaaaaattttt?!?! Surely this is a lucky charm @Izzy24 . My children only eat the white of eggs so they would love this!

I’ve never seen this before! There was a red speck but absolutely no yolk. 😊

hi, nice to meet you, falling asleep here but have never met anyone else whose kids avoided the yolk!!! I try not to give them eggs when visitors are about as I don’t know how to explain it!

stayathomer · 02/03/2024 22:59

Op, a nice thing, it snowed yesterday and my very serious 14 yo beamed all day as he built snowmen outside!

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 02/03/2024 23:18

@MyLemonBee congrats that sounds like a wonderful moment!! Here's to many more jokes.

Nice to meet you too, fellow egg juggler @stayathomer I think yolks are the best bit but splitting eggs is definitely not something I want an audience for!

Oh we hadn't had snow at all this year, how lovely, so glad your teen got chance to have some fun!!

Ok I've got one. My DS had an away win today in football and despite having to run an errand I got to see the match and have hit 8k of my steps today so I feel like I've had a productive day!
