Gazan airdrops reminding me of Hunger Games

I'm not sure why the U.S has to resort to airdropping food in the first place, as I would've assumed that Israel would've let them bring aid in.

But seeing the food being dropped by parachutes is reminding me of the first Hunger Games movie.

I wonder what or who is finally compelling the U.S into doing something.

I've heard other people saying it looks like Fortnite supply drops.

Is there really no there way to bring food in?

Food drops like that reduce the number of people needing to be involved in transporting the food, it also means that they can drop the food directly in areas of need vs transporting it through various checkpoints on the ground where it might be interfered with / needs more physical bodies on the ground which puts more people in danger. You can also do larger drops from the air and reroute quicker (flying over) vs driving to checkpoints or drop areas.

Are the Israelis allowing these airdrop or are they happening by stealth?

Israel control the borders of Gaza and how aid gets in or out.
