Tips to become more motivated and proactive?

Always been a procrastinator but getting better as I age and having two kids helped force the issue.

I spend all day with the kids longing for alone time so I can get on with my projects, (art, writing, crafts) but then struggle to start them when I get that time. Just sit doing not much.

I started my own business FFS which I love and have no trouble working on so why is it so hard to do the 'fun' stuff.

Any tips you have to transform my own personality into a completely different non lazy one much appreciated!

Procrastination isn’t laziness usually - and if you work hard at your business it clearly isn’t in your case.

I would examine what’s getting in the way of it - are you too tired and want to
flop, expecting yourself to do too much of it?

Do you find it fun once you start? Or is it stuff you want to find fun, but actually don’t?

I know that if I procrastinate from something I think I should enjoy, it’s often because I don’t actually want to do it! I’ve just dropped out of a hobby group for example. I really liked the idea of doing this thing. I enjoyed telling people I was doing it. I wanted to enjoy it. But… I didn’t. And after putting it off for ages I admitted to myself that actually it wasn’t fun at all. Totally liberating.

Could that be what’s happening here?
