Sleepover at kid we don't know, ok at 13?

DS is 13 and we know his closest friends and their families pretty well. He's asked to go on a sleepover this weekend with a friend we've never met, and whose parents we don't know. I said OK but could he get one of the parents just to drop me a text, he said no that's embarrassing.

DP seems to think it's fine, and it probably is. I just think it's weird he'll be sleeping away at an unknown address. His other friends that we do know will be there too. He has a phone tracker.

Well you definitely need to know where it is at the very least. You're meant to be embarrassing to a 13 year old, put your foot down and get their parents to text you.

I remember this row too. I also used to insist on at least a text from the parent and I was the most embarrassing mother that ever lived apparently.

Of course you need to exchange with the parents.
This is your role as a mother protecting her child. A no brainer in my opinion.

I had this too. I said you're not staying with anyone until I've spoken to a parent

He's only 13... Yes, you need to know who the parents are.
