What do we want to achieve before the next leap day?

Here is a place to put your secret hopes and dreams! Change your name if you like. I will find and resurrect this thread next leap day - if I am still alive- 😁and we can see how everybody did - ( and if I am not, maybe somebody else would be kind enough to do it for me)

Here is mine - I am aiming to be a published author by next leap day! I am expecting to have maintained a healthy BMI and be running marathons. I will be fluent in the two languages I recently began. I am hoping that my friend who is TTC has a small family who I am very involved with and they call me Aunty.... I will be earning more at work. There may be more, but that is the main ones

Good idea for a thread! I would like:

  • to be a published author too! Even if that means publishing it myself.
  • to be able to play the piano confidently in public.
  • to have finished the patchwork quilt I started a decade ago!!

wow! I'm particularly impressed by the piano playing aim! I guess you are already pretty good? What sort of occasion will you play publicly?

It doesn't need to be a big event, just that I'm too shy to play even for friends now!

I love this thread idea Grin

  1. I would like to have saved enough money to install a much wanted ensuite to our bedroom.

  2. To have actually started the small craft business I have wanted to start for the past 2 years, I keep procrastinating because it's all a bit daunting and difficult.

To have moved house. The crime in my street is getting rediculous and the final straw was a murder this week. I've looked around but can't afford anything other than moving to a similarly shit area at the moment so hopefully somehow in 4 years I will manage it.

Hoglet70 · 02/03/2024 08:12

I would also like to have moved house. We have had dreams forever but I'm trying to make them happen and I would love to think we would actually have achieved this in the next 4 years.

Ifailed · 02/03/2024 08:17

I'd be pleased just to still be here in 4 years time.

Meadowfinch · 02/03/2024 08:19

I want to have stopped work.
No recurrence of BC which means I will be 6 years clear.
To have finished my house
To see my ds happy at university

And to have set up the little specialist food company that I've been planning for 5 years 🙂

Jennalong · 02/03/2024 08:24

For the house renovations to be complete and at last ( ! )
to feel happy to have people around .

To maintain a healthy weight and to get back my fitness.

The world to be a safer place for everyone .

To have moved to my forever-second-half-of0-life home in my chosen location. To have my body in its peak state for this stage of my life. To have found the perfect work life balance while keeping my much loved job.

OliviaCromwell · 02/03/2024 08:34

so many lovely hopes and dreams, thank you for sharing.

I am going to make a tiny step towards one of mine today - recording here for accountability! Time to get typing on that book I've had planned out in my head for a decade - even a paragraph will be a start.

I will have turned 40 two days beforehand, so hopefully I’ll be having a great party and not be too freaked out.

To have lost my baby weight (i feel disgusting).

To be getting more sleep than I am now.

For my kids to be healthy and happy.

NoraLuka · 02/03/2024 08:46

I’d love to be a published author too - have written about three quarters of a novel, if I carry on at the same speed it should at least be finished by the next leap year!

I want to stop procrastinating and learn to focus. I think that’s the one change that would improve my life.

I hope I will have sorted out my relationship with DP, whatever that looks like. This morning involved getting him home from the pub and into bed at 2 AM while so drunk he couldn’t walk. The barman had to help me get him into the car and the mate we were with looked like he felt sorry for me. I don’t want to still be doing this 4 years from now.
