Can anyone give me a healthy meal plan that you use ? We do eat a balanced diet but I want to cut out all processed food. What do you use? How do you do it as cheap as possible?

Thanks

Have a look on the bbc good food website. They have a healthy food plan, healthy diet plan, a feel good meal plan etc.
It’s all proper ingredients. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a recipe on there that includes anything processed tbh.

How far do you want to go? Are you going to be making your own bread etc. or do you mean cooking meals from scratch?

An easy approach is to make three meals each week that you eat for two nights each, or do batch cooking and use the freezer - that way the cooking is not too onerous. Also look at easy wholefood basics - like jacket potatoes with any healthy toppings or vegetable soup with homemade scones or bread.

In terms of price, cooking simple things and using seasonal ingredients helps. Frozen or tinned veg is cheap.

Things like chill and rice, pasta sauce, curries, stews and soups are all easy and can be cheap.

Home made soups with wonky/left over seasonal veg
Stews/casserole, again with the above
Jacket potatoes with home made fillings
Salmon/fresh fish with new potatoes & veg
Homemade pasta with any sauce

It's easy to cook from fresh if you have the time & ideas, but even better when you can batch cook & freeze portions!!!

When you say processed food, do you mean ultra-processed food? Because eliminating processed food must be well nigh impossible. That would include flour, bread, butter, oil, olives, pasta, cheese, yoghourt, honey, dried pulses and fruit, tomato puree, dried herbs, rolled oats etc etc.
