Anyone having issues with Platform or Co-op mortgage?

DH noticed this morning that our Platform mortgage direct debit, due out tomorrow, has been cancelled! It certainly wasn’t cancelled by us and I’m obviously worried because if they don’t get the money tomorrow then we may lose our low rate (2.1%) I’ve been on hold for nearly 2 hours so should I assume this is a fault within the system and the bank has cancelled loads of direct debits?

We had a letter from them recently that they would be setting up new direct debits as part of the move from Platform to COOP. I think it may be that we got the letter about 2/3 weeks ago

Yes just checked we have a new direct debit payable to coop mortgages and the platform one looks to have been cancelled

Yes ours is in my banks pending transactions as first payment to co-op tomorrow, which is my usual payment date

That’s interesting, thanks. There’s no new one showing in my NatWest app but hopefully it’ll all be something and nothing!

Thanks for this thread! Just to confirm, have platform/co op set up the new DD automatically or should I have done something as a customer?

UsernameTaken76 · 29/02/2024 11:33

Platform have set ours up automatically. I think the letter said direct debits they will sort automatically but if you have a standing order you need to contact them and change it.

Just off the phone to them after 2.5 hours. They said they’ve cancelled the Platform direct debit and confirmed that the new Co-op one is ready to go out tomorrow. Apparently the phone lines are going crazy because of it! They should put a
message on their system explaining this, rather than telling people it will be 45 mins.

@nc22124 Nothing for you to do as a customer.

Thank you so much! I actually had a proper look at my account and could see a DD for Co-op, so I assumed it had been changed, but good to get confirmation.

Hello, I realise this is an old thread. But I wondered if anyone on here has received a mortgage statement from
Co-Op since the move from Platfom? I understand I could view my mortgage balance online if I had a bank account with Co-Op (but I don’t). Thanks so much for any replies!

Yes. I got a statement for my anniversary which was July, but I think we got the statement in Sept. It was certainly later than I expected.
