Hi, just looking for some advice please. Ds loves the masked singer and we're thinking of booking to watch the 'live' show. We've never been to Butlins before. Has anyone been during school holidays and seen the masked singer show please? Do I need to book it in advance of buy any of the add ons? Can the kids sit at the front or would we need to get there hours before to get good seats? Any experiences are very welcome.

Should say ds has disabilities would he get some sort of queue jump for this?

No queue jumping for disabled people at Butlins, probably because such a large % of customers have disabilities.

I have no ideas about the later shows as we didn’t go to them.

We just went to this last week and it was great fun. We did buy the early access VIP passes because we hadn't been before and wanted to make sure we didn't have lots of long queues, we found it really useful, were able to pretty much just walk into the shows while other were in very long queues waiting to get in.

Front seats filled up quickly but there were plenty of seats a bit further back.

I haven't seen the masked singer but for other shows you get a ticket which guarantees entry and a seat but then you do need to queue if you want seats near the front. I think we have sent one person to queue about 30mins before doors open and that was plenty to be near the front.
But I was disappointed with the main show that we saw last year. It was so short (about 30mins total) and not at all what I expected. It was the Stephen mulhern one. It felt very much like a vehicle to sell merch. So I expect the masked singer to be the same. As an add on to the holiday great, as a trip to a show not so much.

Thank you for your replies. All much appreciated.

@FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain do you know roughly how long the show lasts for please and do you get chance to have photos with the characters?

@whosaidtha did they let you save seats then please? I was wondering about this but I know some venues won't let one person queue and then others join later.

It might depend what venue. In the one for SM it's little tables so I just grabbed a table. But you can also queue one person and then other people join when the doors open so you all go in and get seats together.

Always been curious seeing the adverts, do they actually unmask any household names or are they 'actors'?

We sat about a third of the way back in Skegness last week, but the kids still had a decent view. We’d queued from 45/50 minutes before the show started, not VIPs. They used a camera and screens to add to the view.

This year was just one new character to be unmasked. The Skegness one was someone well known, won’t say who! And 4 (I think) old characters (obviously not the original celebs in those).

They make up a panel of one Redcoat, and two people from the audience. But they ‘audition’ in the warm up before the show starts.

Show was 1 hour, not including the warmup beforehand.

Photographs afterwards. Extra cost to buy obviously.
