I have had a handful of people either implying I should not post or telling me to stick to one thread.

I'm awear that I post alot sometimes yes I'm posting general shit . Little things that seem pointless.

Many people have family /partners /friends to share their daily moans . I don't have this if it was not for MN I would have no one to talk to sound of etc .

I do not stick to one thread because people literally only read the very first OP. Many do not even read op updates. So the thread becomes about something that it's nlt meant to be.

I know I probably piss people of I often piss myself off . But would it really hurt theses people to scroll past see my name and just scroll past

Honestly if its bothering you enough to start threads like this I think you need to step away from MN for a bit.

Unless MN tell you to stop you are free to post as many threads as you like.

What response do you want from this thread?

DorothyZ · 29/02/2024 08:48

People find it easier to follow if the one subject is in the one thread so I can understand that. If you are making multiple threads about the same thing it becomes confusing, not just for posters but also for you. It's not a criticism when people suggest you keep it all together, it's actually helpful advice. Think of it like your house, it's a way to keep things organised and tidy.

Thank you .

I don't fully understand the question though. I guess my post is more of a statement than anything.

You post because you want responses from others for example some people post as the response they want is advice or recommendations or because they want to organise their thoughts.
What response are you wanting from posting this thread? Justification? Agreement? Conflict?

It's not easier for me though. I tend to do what I find easier. And so many people only read the first OP and its moved on . Inthen spend ages saying its moved on now.

I think sometimes it's said to be helpful other times its just a dig.

Sometimes it's a simlar situation but not sane subject or its because I kind of pigeon hole things.

It probably does ot make sense to others but does to me.

As I just explained to you its a statement

Well you asked why people are suggesting it.

If you don't want to find out the answer and you want to continue as you are why did you even post this? Juts do what you want.

cryinglaughing · 29/02/2024 08:55

Crack on as you are, unless MN ask you not to.

People can scroll on by and not answer 🤷🏻‍♀️

So you don't want any response you just wanted to make a public statement.

Fair enough however be aware if you make public statements you invite others to pass comment and that includes ones you don't like for example people telling you not to post as many threads as you do. You making another thread to complain about such comments is pointless really.

FabFebHalfTerm · 29/02/2024 08:57

I think it's probable that you're taking their comments the wrong way.

its often helpful if posters know the background to a thread so they don't ask questions that half the posters & the OP have discussed previously. Threads can derail very quickly if half the posters 'know' the OP & their 'story' & half don't.

people are suggesting sticking to one ongoing thread would make knowing & understanding your situation easier. However, I can understand your point of view that people often dont read your latest post so don't realise you have a new issue you want to discuss.

im not sure what the answer is really.

Yeah I totally get where your coming from. I could well be taking it the wrong way. Maybe it's a bit of both. Definitely not loads but there are a handful of people that will say things for a dig. But its hard to tell.

Also I probably don't think In the same way as many others do. I kind of put things in little boxes . Each thread is like a box to me.
One thread could be. I really can't cope with my ds anymore. After a bit I may think I need to put this to one side for a bit. And to take my mind of that situation I might post something on a new thread that seems pointless. Which to most it probably is.

I did not ask why?

My misunderstanding, in which case this is just an example of why people are commenting about your posting. There is no purpose to this thread. You don't want people to respond to why has been said. You say you are making a statement but that's maybe for Facebook because this is a discussion forum and if you make a thread you will get a discussion. It's frustrating to reply and explain why something might be only for you to reply that you didn't ask.

I'm.not saying people can't discuss that's totally fine. And it's fine to say why they think that might be the case etc..

But that poster said I asked why. When I did not ask why at all.

OP posts:
Hobnobswantshernameback · 29/02/2024 10:42

I mean hypothetically if people have read a posters posts over several name changes over many years posting the same meandering pointless musings they may reach a point of feeling that the threads and posts are in fact pointless and may respond accordingly
may or may not be applicable in this case
who knows

Lanawashington · 29/02/2024 10:44

Is it not more to do with the fact that you frequently post asking for advice, but you rebuff every bit of advice given with why it won't work for you or why it's a bad idea, and then come back again with another thread asking for advice on the same thing when you won't take any that was given on the previous thread

MeinKraft · 29/02/2024 10:46

God alright you are more persistent in starting threads about starting threads than the tiny car woman!

DorothyZ · 29/02/2024 10:52

But that poster said I asked why. When I did not ask why at all.

Yes that poster was me. I misunderstood and thought you had posted because you wanted to know why people were saying this.

As it is all you have done is post yet another irritating and pointless thread. You don't want discussion, you don't want explanation, you done even want engagement.

No its that you don't recognise when I have taken advice . Also not all threads are about taking advice.

Pointless thread I get that I'm sure maby people think what's the point of that why she posting that crap etc etc . That's fine. No one needs to reply.

I have said myself some of my posts may seem pointless. I also pointed out that I don't have anyone to talk to not even about daily crap.

I only saw one other about that and think MN deleted it… unlike this one. And yes I fully admit to being one of the people who suggested to OP to keep a diary or stick to one thread.

A diary does not allow me to interact with others.

I have explained a few times on this thread why I post /make new threads.
