When someone shows as active in messenger..

Are they actually looking at messenger or could they be doom scrolling FB?

You show active on messenger when you are on Facebook.

They could be just in Fb or even in WhatsApp (they are linked), I think mine shows I’m online as soon as I go online on my phone.
