Screwfix sockets advice please

We are getting new plugs fitted in house long story short my sister works for screwfix and can get me the stuff I need a bit cheaper. However my spark has told me that screwfix stuff isn't very good. Now the question is, is he trying to charged me more so what's to get them for me or... are they genuinely rubbish ?

Their own brand are basic, so your sparks is correct, however screwfix also sell brand names.

Go for Crabtree, or MK and you will be fine. They probably have other decent brands too, but I can't recall offhand.

It isn't so much that their own brand / cheapest range doesn't work, but it will be made of the cheapest brittle plastic etc. Don't ask me how I know, I just know 😂

Their basic is crap. Thanks to Dh ‘swearing’ it’s fab I have several sockets I just don’t use anymore as they won’t either accept the plug easily or let it go. He managed to break at least three trying to fix them as well - so not even as if we saved money.
Get them from screw fix but get a known brand the difference is quite something to behold.
(yep I’ve learnt not to let Dh do such jobs anymore, I just pay someone or do it myself or put up with it as it is.)

I always buy from screwfix and I buy own brand, no issues whatsoever. Just be mindful that if you buy budget the quality is low, if you spend more ...

They are rubbish and you will spend more on sparky time. Just buy MK.
