Oura ring

Hi
I'm having to stop using my Apple Watch as my skin is reacting really badly to it. I'm interested in an Oura ring instead and wondering if anyone has one and how they find it? It looks like you have to pay a monthly subscription to get the data too - is that right?
I want it for sleep tracking and heart rate monitoring. I have minor AF so like the reassurance of knowing it'll tell me if things change

If you manage to buy an older model, you won't need the subscription service. I had one but don't use it now that I have an Apple Watch. In fact we had 3 (partner, me, son).

Ok thanks that's good to know. Did you find it useful? I did like the Apple Watch, but it's a nightmare on my skin and I found it really big on my wrist

My partner loved it - partly why he upgraded to the watch. My (asd) son refused to wear it. I thought it was fine; wore it daily, it did what it said it would do but at the time I wasn't so fussed about my sleep as I slept well. I did like the temperature monitoring though as it was covid times and gave me a heads up.

I have one, but there needs to be a percentage charge for the sleep monitoring. After a short while, it needed charged so often that I never got the sleep data, so I cancelled my subscription. When it worked, it was good.

Anyone got an Oura ring referral link? Thanks

I’m interested in getting a gen 3 as they’re on sale.
I want it to track exercise, heart rate, sleep - will it do all that well? Anything else? I’ve read a few things about cycle tracking and I’m in perimenopause so that might be useful. Can’t see any facts about that on the website though. Would love to know people’s views.

@Penelopetu I have Gen 4. I think the sleep data is more interesting than I expected - lots of detail. I like the readiness score and the fact that your goals are adjusted automatically according to your readiness score, eg if you’ve had a bad night sleep, your goals are reduced.
HR etc also good.
However, for exercise it is weak. It’ll tell me I’ve done 5000 steps and yet 10 miles! - this should be in sync.
My Apple Watch and Fitbit were relatively similar. Oura is completely out for steps and miles.

Ah that’s annoying! Hmmm, may rethink then.
