Scarlet fever?

Husband has been feeling ill for a few days. Very bad head, flu symptoms and stayed in bed for 2 full days. Not like him at all so can't blame it on man flu. He's currently having a bath and I noticed he's had this red rash appear. Is this scarlet fever? Or any other ideas? He's refusing to call 111 at the moment.

He needs medical attention tonight.

When my children have had scarlet fever it's been a finer, consistent rash.

Has he been vaccinated against measles? Looks a lot like the NHS website picture.

When dc had scarlet fever his rah covered his torso and his hands were like sandpaper. Definitely needs to be checked by doctor.

Looks more like Shingles than scarlet fever. Is it just the one side of the body?

Thanks everyone. It's only in the area around his neck/shoulders. I don't think it's shingles. I've had shingles myself and it was excruciating. This isn't sore, he didn't even notice it himself. Just a bit itchy. My father is a retired gp and suggests it's just a sweaty eczema rash exacerbated by being in a hot bath. But suggests GP in the morning. The redness has calmed down a bit since getting out the bath 🤷‍♀️
Unfortunately I can't force him to seek medical attention tonight. He's very stubborn. He has promised to ring the GP in the morning if he's still the same though.

When I had shingles it wasn’t really very painful more just incredibly itchy.

Doesn't look like scarlet fever as others have said (well my child's didn't look like that). I hope he feels better soon

Op, has this rash come up since or during the bath? My DD gets hives after a bath or very hot shower and they look just like this. They fade when she cools down.

I haven't seen him all day until he was in the bath so I can't really say. He hasn't noticed it himself. The redness has calmed down a lot since he's got out and went back into a cooler bedroom though.
