So whilst scrolling the news today got me thinking about if the child benefit higher charge were to be removed to stop the inequality that single income households experience as part of next weeks budget
How quick does things like that take effect? The reduction in NI happened 2 months after the Autumn Budget? And what happens in the General Election when the Tories inevitably lose? If it's not in effect by the time of the election is that it? It just doesn't happen? Or are changes announced as part of a Budget automatically law?
All this may be a pipe dream of course and they may ignore it like they have in the 10 years since it was introduced - but I'm a single parent - raising 3 young children and earn not much over the £60k but enough that no longer get CB
