Does anyone else experience crushed and fantasies only when around the time of ovulation?!

After almost 5 years of no periods (except one in-between my two children) I got my first period last month. In the run up to it I developed two crushes on guys at work. (Yes, not one but two!?)
Pretty much during my period, the crushes faded and I thought to myself "that was funny, how intense that was!" And was glad it was over.

This month, it's happening again!

Wtf
I'm happily married with two young kids but when this happens all I can think about are these crushes.
Does anyone else experience this?

It's usually when you are ovulating.
Your body wants you to have sex and get pregnant so it ramps up the sexy hormones.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 28/02/2024 00:37

Yes deffo when ovulating.

I don't remember feeling like this pre-kids though
It's intense!

Not only when ovulating, but definitely more intense then. And sex dreams.

Of course!

ElliottFromScrubs · 28/02/2024 01:23

Yes. I get a bit obsessed with my husband and a bit needy. Then it passes and I’m like nah, no thanks 😂

Definitely not. I definitely did not have a 3 day crush on a co-worker, walk past his office umpteen times, buy new clothes and makeup and obsess about him endlessly.

I am menopausal, my ovaries only twitch occasionally. Luckily.

Rovinonmars · 28/02/2024 22:45

Yeah, you're just horny!

DaisyCat33 · 28/02/2024 22:47

Lol yes. It's really weird. It lasts for like 2-3 days and then it's completely gone.

Maverickess · 28/02/2024 22:48

Yes, I am now pretty sure I'm in peri and I have pretty much lost interest in men all together most of the time, I've been single for several years but have had a few 'interactions' shall we say. But I used to become obsessed around ovulation sometimes.

I can always tell when the old oestrogen is having a bit of a surge because suddenly I start looking at my male colleagues differently, and there's definitely some truth in the whole surge before it starts to drop thing, for about a year it was far more intense after a few years of waning and then it just waned almost completely. I made some poor decisions sex wise in that 12 months (nothing illegal, immoral or dangerous but just doing things people I wouldn't normally look at twice). 😁

TurtleMoon · 28/02/2024 22:51

Yep! Our single neighbour, a married colleague and probably others have all been the object of my lust in week 2 of my cycle! Oh, and the weirdest sex dreams. I'm turning 39 in a few months and have really noticed this being a thing in the last year or so. Definitely didn't happen like this before I had children (oldest is 5.5).

Yes for me there is definitely a change since having kids!

Unfortunately my kids gave me a rubbish night sleep last night so I missed out on some romantic dreams - damn! Lol

I have found myself going to more of an effort in the morning when going through this phase. It's pathetic!

I have weird dreams around ovulation time, yes. Crushes, no, but I think I just probably don't like actual people (besides dh) that much.

This month I had a weird sex dream involving Elon Musk - which put me right off frankly, and I'm still creeped out by it. 😂

TwoWithCurls · 29/02/2024 10:02

Yes!! Very much so!

DoYouWantToStartACultWithMe · 29/02/2024 10:03

Yes to all of this 🤣

Never realised this connection before, but now I understand why I've bothered with makeup these past few days!

Rainallnight · 05/03/2024 22:35

I am a lesbian and I fancy men when I’m ovulating. True fact.
