(Irrationally?) worried about DH playing sport

DH has a rugby game, he plays for the local club and has for years but only just restarted a couple of months ago after a year off and in a couple of days it will be his first game.

He is generally a really good player and has played since he was in school but having watched him previously he just gets stuck in (as they all do) and throws himself around. Rugby as a sport worries me as it is. I just have a particularly bad anxious feeling these days relating to that and not sure really why.

It’ll be fine, right? Rugby games must happen daily up and down the country. I know me driving to work is probably riskier than him playing a bit of sport but I can’t seem to reassure myself with that.

I do think I need to get some perspective but I honestly feel like finding something else we need to do on that date so he doesn’t go. Crazy, I know

My oh is 50 and still plays most weeks alongside BIL who’s 57. If they enjoy it. Let the boys play.

Have they both always been fine? I don’t know why I’m so anxious. Loads of men do it don’t they. My DH has played since he was a kid. I’m just, for some reason, particularly worried about this time around.
