Is there any way employer (school) see I’m on phone?

Possibly very silly question. I teach in a school and we are obviously not allowed to be on phones in lessons, no exceptions. If there’s an emergency people would have to contact you through school landline. However, this week one of my teen sons is going through something tricky and I have occasionally been secretly looking at phone which is in desk to check he’s ok, got to school ok, and replied to a couple of messages. I’m not using school wifi. I assume there’s no way they’d find out?! I have a new boss who I don’t trust at all so it’s making me more paranoid than usual. Obviously my students could dob me in but I think I’ve been subtle!

Can’t see how they’d know other than you get caught. Just be discreet

Could you get a Fitbit? Mine and DH’s buzz when we get a text or WhatsApp and you can read the first line of the message so at least that could offer some reassurance.

Yes children, do as I say, not as I do. Great example you are setting kids when staff don't follow rules.
Why not just explain to the head that there is an issue with your child and ask for a rules exception

Alternatively, the stress of your ds's issue is making you ill so could stay off for a week. Rather than the sensible approach of discreetly checking your phone.
