I’m wondering if you’ve had to do this.. it could be anything really. Have you ever had to walk away from something or someone because you know that’s what is best for you?

How did you cope with this?

I am in this situation sort of now. I need to step away from something I love because because being a part of it is also causing me harm. But it’s incredibly hard to do. I don’t know how to do it.

I had to step away from one side of my family after my parents died, honestly it took a lot of counselling but I realised that my own mental health was worth more than the toxic connection I was holding on to. By removing myself from the situation it stopped the drama and twisting of words.

Amazingly 10 years down the line I found out my mom had a half sister none of us knew about and I now have an amazing relationship with her.

I ghosted my bff after 8 years when I clicked she didn't want our dc mixing.. Had always assumed it was her exh who had issues.. Until they split up and she still refused all meet ups.. Unlike when they were all pre school and we spent 9til3 together 5 days a week. Actually devastated me but knew I had to walk away.
