Lost passport

Third time in 10 years (yes I know I’m an idiot). Used to use it as ID when younger so lost it twice then, I’ve had this one for 6 years and it’s just disappeared off the face of the earth.
I’ve reported it lost today, but I’ve been told that because it has been lost 3 times in a 10 year period, that I may be called for an interview when I re-apply.
I have an appointment at Liverpool passport office on Friday to put in application for a one week fast track, however I’ve been told that this could be demoted to a standard application if I need an interview etc.
I’m due to travel on 1st April, so a day less than 5 weeks. Does anybody know the current wait times for interviews etc, or if they’ve been in this position before was there much of a hold up?

Wait it’s not 5 weeks, it’ll be 30 days won’t it. 😩

Not sure what you mean about them demoting it - surely you’re paying for a one-week fast track??
If it’s any consolation, I lost my passport when visiting the UK at Christmas. Had an appointment at Liverpool on Sat 30 Dec – new passport arrived on Wed 3 Jan.

They said that if there are any issues they can change it from a one-week to standard, and may or may not refund the difference if that’s the case. It’s cost me £155 so hoping it all goes through in a week, and if not at least get refunded.

Also, at the interview I was given a slip of paper to say my passport would arrive by Saturday 6. My point is, you should be informed as to when it will arrive so you'll know whether you'll get it in time for your trip.

I know it's a different circumstance, but my DD lost her passport while living abroad. She applied for a new one and literally received it four days later (despite being abroad), so the department dealing with that sort of thing, managed to turn it around very quickly. Hope this gives you some reassurance.

Assuming you've looked inside suitcases and handluggage first?

Been looking all over for a few days, but had annual leave today so turned the place upside down and admitted defeat.
Even if I find it now, it’s already reported as lost so can’t use it 😞

Praying this is the case!

But if you find it now you can take it with you and hopefully won't have a demoted interview.

It's still worth trying to find it.
