Nursery fees & free hours

Anyone else gutted by the increases/ changes being made by their nursery?

We were expecting the funding to mean our bill would go down!

They've removed term time & school
Hours. So to be able to use the "free" hours I need to use a 8-6 slot.

I know they are a business & it needs to be viable. But it just seems unjustified at the same time.

I'm a cm and I'm only offering full days but that's how I worked before funding.

From my point of view, if everyone chooses part days, I can't earn enough to stay sustainable.

How is it unjustified? The amount the nursery gets for the “funded” hours is simply not enough. In order to stay in business the nursery has to find ways to recoup the difference between what the government pays and what it actually costs to provide childcare (and yes turn a small profit. But nobody is getting rich off owning a nursery.) Like any business, a nursery that can’t make money will have to close.

It’s shit but but it’s not the nursery’s fault.
