Best buttery leggings

What do you recommend? These are just for lounging and nipping out and about for a walk with the kids. I am pretty active with 2 young boys, but don't need gym style/running leggings as I have plenty of those - these are more for comfort.

I have the lulu lemon align dupes from amazon and LOVE them, they are so comfy, but didn't last long - after a few months (and granted lots of washes) they are now pretty bally. Can't warrant spending the price on the actual lulu lemon ones, so what else do people recommend?

Im confused by “don’t need gym style /running leggings”..what’s the difference between those and the style @Aviee posted? Im not a leggings wearer so apologies if being thick

One is active wear and one is regular clothing to be worn under dresses etc.

I have 2 pairs of second hand lulu lemons but I wouldn’t wear them to work.

Garlickit · 28/02/2024 02:04

I obviously had to buy yet more Sinophant leggings, since they're on discount.
So much for No New Clothes 😳

I second this! They are amazing and wash really well!

I have a couple of pairs of these, they are great and wash well. Only downside is that they are a bit hot and sweaty. I have M&S thermal ones (heatgen plus) too and they are thicker and don't get hot and sweaty. Those aren't buttery though.

Who is wearing leggings under dresses?!

I have gym leggings for proper workouts and softer leggings for wearing around the house / walking the dogs etc

There are leggings to wear under dresses or with an oversized casual jumper, and then there are more technical leggings to wear to the gym or for exercise.

Who is wearing leggings under dresses?

Lots of people?

Lots of people?

It looks terrible!

lifebeginsaftercoffee · 28/02/2024 09:26

@Pyri i wear leggings under dresses instead of tights because they're thicker and longer lasting. Normally paired with boots.

I'm wondering how you could tell the difference between the two so confidently as to say one looks shit and the other doesn't?

Skintdancemum · 28/02/2024 09:27

What size do people get the Amazon leggings if you are a large 12?

amusedbush · 28/02/2024 10:11

I just bought these from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Colorfulkoala-Womens-Waisted-Leggings-Pockets/dp/B07G55R2LB?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1. I like pockets in my leggings and but that seller also offers less sporty-looking ones, plus different lengths and a luxe version.

I have lost a lot of weight and I still have a couple of stone to go so I didn't want to spend too much but I'm pretty impressed for £14.99. The fabric feels lovely and they aren't see-through. I'm 5' 5" with short legs (29") so the fact they are 7/8 length is a bonus.

I'm a 12/14 and I ordered a size M - after reading the reviews and choosing to ignore the seller's size guide.

Which Amazon dupes do you have? I have lots of the Crz yoga leggings from Amazon, I prefer them to my real lulemelons

I believe they’re actually cheaper and have free delivery if you buy direct from the Crz Yoga website

Wearing leggings under dresses was all the rage in 2006.

InTheRainOnATrain · 28/02/2024 10:52

Actually if you want to look summery in a floaty frock but it’s the classic great british summer and a bit chilly, I’d like to make a case for a completely hidden cropped pair underneath a midi/maxi dress.

But visible leggings under a dress? I don’t think I’ve seen it on anyone over the age of 7 since I was at 6th form college in the mid 00s. If it’s back in fashion then NO THANKS.

Just get the real Lulus. I’ve worn mine almost daily (maybe 6/7 days) since last May. That one pair. They dry so quick, last so well, look so good, so thick you can’t see panty lines…. They’re becoming a bit damaged where DS’s feet always rub against it when in the carrier but you can’t actually see the damage- I can just feel it. Do it!

I wanted to say this, every “dupe” I have doesn’t compare. I got them at the start of my pregnancy and they’re great, I’ve been wearing them for over 3 years now. Mine do a get a bit bobbly, but I’d recommend getting a debobbler machine (wonder what the technical term is) great for leggings, jumpers, coats etc. it makes everything look so much better! Will help your old leggings too

Ithinkitstimeforbed · 28/02/2024 11:00

@Nopeandno do you have a link for the leggings you like, please? I love my lulus so it would be great to find a cheaper alternative, all the ones I’ve tried haven’t been soft or hard wearing enough!

Brawcolli · 28/02/2024 11:34

cardibach · 27/02/2024 20:08

Just looked at the price! Utterly ridiculous for leggings, not matter how long they last. I don’t pay those prices for work clothes or going out clothes!

It does matter how long they last, though. I’m planning on buying a pair after I give birth because I’m tired of spending the same amount on multiple leggings that fall apart or go see through after a few washes! It makes more sense to buy one pair that will last for ages.

CUDet · 28/02/2024 11:52

I'm a Nursery teacher and wear leggings under my dressses so as not to flash the little ones when sat cross legged on the carpet, also warmer for when playing outside with them.
I've been recommended Sweaty Betty leggings for exercising in, looked on the website and the reviews seem to be quite poor. People commenting that they are not as good quality as they were. Has anyone bought them more recently?

Cindy1802 · 28/02/2024 11:54

@Nopeandno it's the CRZ ones I have and they are SO bobbly... which is a shame cos they are super comfy and fit really well!

@Cindy1802 my debobbler is like this one https://amzn.eu/d/1cpjfyL and it worked brilliantly on all my bobbled clothes, in case you’re interested, might save your leggings. It works on cashmere and wool too

Workawayxx · 28/02/2024 12:12

I've jumped on the bandwagon and ordered some of the Amazon ones for £8.99.

If you wear leggings under a dress with boots, they just look like thick opaques but are warmer/thicker. Love the idea of a cropped pair invisible under a midi/maxi for warmth though!

thaisweetchill · 28/02/2024 12:15

Adanola, so so soft and comfy!

Looking at the price of those, it’s much cheaper to buy moderate quality ones and replace. My leggings also last ages.

TTCbaby2023 · 28/02/2024 13:49

Loveall site have got some pretty good leggings, I definitely recommend to have a look.
