Best buttery leggings

What do you recommend? These are just for lounging and nipping out and about for a walk with the kids. I am pretty active with 2 young boys, but don't need gym style/running leggings as I have plenty of those - these are more for comfort.

I have the lulu lemon align dupes from amazon and LOVE them, they are so comfy, but didn't last long - after a few months (and granted lots of washes) they are now pretty bally. Can't warrant spending the price on the actual lulu lemon ones, so what else do people recommend?

Looking at the amazon leggings - what size do people order if you're a UK 16 please?

I wear L-XL and I'm a 14. I'd say that would be fine as they're really stretchy and a tiny bit loose on me.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 27/02/2024 16:03

are you anywhere near the Suffolk Coast OP? If so, I know somewhere you can buy Sweaty Betty leggings for under £10. Sadly they rarely have any in a big enough size to fit my fat arse but they've always got ones if you're a size 8 or 10.

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 27/02/2024 16:04

I'm not sure I'd use the word buttery, but I'd rate Nike Pro leggings. I've just replaced a pair after a year because they had a tiny hole in the knee. They are about £40 a pair.

Thanks all, I wish the amazon ones had a better range of colours! Don't need black ones but don't want super bright ones either. Might give them a go though for the price.

Don't live anywhere near that sweaty Betty place PP, unfortunately based in sunny W Yorkshire 😄

yes i wish that too - would like a darker navy or darker green

Garlickit · 27/02/2024 19:11

Sinophant come in all kinds of colours. I've even got bright red and bright yellow ones! Some of mine have been machine washed dozens of times over 3 years. The dark colours have faded a bit, but they haven't lost stretch or gone transparent. Minimal bobbling, if any.

They sell out quickly (understandably) so there's sometimes a wait for the colours or size you want.

I'm a 16 and get L-XL.

Element Karbon leggings are great. So soft and they last ages!

Lavender1974 · 27/02/2024 19:22

I’ve got three pairs of the Lulu Lemon Align ones from Vinted. All under £30 and BNWT. Gorgeously soft!

cardibach · 27/02/2024 19:25

I just bought some sinophant ones and they are, indeed lovely and soft.
As an aside, the phrase ‘buttery soft’ is almost enough to put me off buying things. It means nothing! Butter is soft as in squishy. Clothes should be soft as in nice to stroke - velvety would make sense. Buttery sounds daft!

YouTulip · 27/02/2024 19:25

‘Buttery leggings’ sounds to me vaguely obscene, or as if you’re a turkey being basted…?

I’m 5.3” and a size 14 to 16. I order L to LXL. I don’t like anything tight around my waist and these are perfect for me. A little on the long side but I fold them over at the ankles

I've seen a few of these and assumed they were fakes... the sellers aren't selling anything else and have no feedback. Or have you been lucky and found "normal" sellers?!

I know you say you can’t justify the Lulus but in case you’d appreciate some persuasion I’ve had mine for 5 years, I wore them (the same pair!) at 9 months pregnant with DS and he was over 8lbs at birth, I’ve never read the washing instructions and just throw them in the dryer. And they are still like new.

Similar with sweaty betty, just binned mine after a similar length of time and only because the stictching had gone round the bottom of one leg. No bobbling.

Just looked at the price! Utterly ridiculous for leggings, not matter how long they last. I don’t pay those prices for work clothes or going out clothes!

megacat · 27/02/2024 20:33

Can someone tell me about the length on the Amazon ones please?

I'm 5'8 and struggle to find leggings long enough.

Oh, you made me wonder as I bought them in my earlier days of Vinted buying (only started last year) when I was not savvy at looking at reviews etc. I have just gone back to look through my messages and can see that the buyers are all “inactive” now so fear there may be something dodgy. I am certain they are real though as are gorgeous and exactly the same as my sister’s real pair. So maybe stolen!? Looking on Vinted now I can see several pairs of Align leggings that do look like genuine sellers which are not as cheap as mine but still much cheaper than in store.

Tulipvase · 27/02/2024 21:08

I’ve ordered lots of the sinophant ones from Amazon. I do like them but have found the size can vary a bit, and the elasticity. But I complained once as they were so small and they refunded me, no quibble.

I am 5ft 10. They are ankle length on me.

Sidebeforeself · 27/02/2024 21:25

Im confused by “don’t need gym style /running leggings”..what’s the difference between those and the style @Aviee posted? Im not a leggings wearer so apologies if being thick

cakewitch · 27/02/2024 21:34

Right! I've put some of those "almighty leggings" in my basket.. how could anyone resist them after that??

BertieBotts · 27/02/2024 21:42

What does buttery mean?? I am picturing greasy but I'm sure that's not what you are talking about 😂

Do you mean they go on easily? Is it something to do with a bum lift?

(I am easily confused don't mind me)

megacat · 27/02/2024 21:52

@twilightcafe thanks!

bradpittsbathwater · 27/02/2024 22:53

@BertieBotts I assume she means soft
