UK holiday with 3 year old. Suggestions please

We will be visiting England soon for a month with our three year old. Staying in Herts but planning lots of mini trips to other places for a few days here and there.

Please can anyone suggest great venues/ activities that we should include? It’s a long time since we’ve been in England with a small child and I’m sure lots of new places have opened up.

Especially keen to hear some wet weather options and any special things on for Easter.

Lake District. You could rent a cottage and spend a week there. My kids enjoyed going on short walks and pub lunches. There are plenty of kids attractions such as the Beatrix Potter, some farms, some country houses, outdoor markets etc. The ferry, and we also rented a speedboat at some point.

I think it could be a bit chilly during Easter but certainly pleasant enough for the outdoors.
