Just looking for recommendations. I bought a pair of 1000 mile socks but wondering if there are any other good options?

My favourite walking socks are Darn Tough hiker socks. They are not cheap, but they like up to their name, and are very comfortable.

I like a good liner sock with a walking sock on top rather than the double-layer socks. I have Bridgedale liner socks https://www.bridgedale.com/products/womens-base-layer-coolmax-liner?_pos=2&_sid=529e2b642&_ss=r
and Brasher hiking socks https://www.brasher.co.uk/125282/125282-brs-w-hiker

What is the thinking behind wearing sock liners + socks? DC doing D of E soon and not sure whether this is a good idea or not.
