'Boyfriend' was lying- should wife know?

I am separated from husband. Have lived separately for over a year. Met someone in OLD, hit it off and started a relationship. He told me he was in a similar position but still living in same house as wife which actually is no issue to me as husband was when I met him and there was nothing between him and his ex.
Conducted extensive Google stalking and confirmed his job did indeed mean he was away alot so was reasonable he was not as free as he might be in other circumstances. Spoke freely at all times if the day and evening. Videocalowd from the locations he was away in. No thing seemed strange.
Since discovered he infact has multiple women and is infact still very married.
Obviously I am not seeing him now and have of course had all necessary health checks.
Should his wife know? They have children. Bit torn. WaSnt knowingly OW but don't want to cause distress.

I’d want to know, wouldn’t you?

BristolBorn · 26/02/2024 17:34

I’m not sure.
She may already know/suspect but if you confront her with the truth may feel she has to act.
Many women would prefer to keep the secure lives they have a turn a blind eye.

Also, if it did come to informing, how to do so?

I wouldnt get involved .often the wife thinks something is "off" but ignores it ,I would not tell her as it may force her to confront her feelings .Up to them to sort out

icelollycraving · 26/02/2024 19:39

I wouldn’t tell her, no.

pictoosh · 26/02/2024 19:43

Honestly, if I was one of many, I'd probably back the fuck off and cross my fingers that his wife clues on to him soonest.
Don't think I'd want to be the informer.

Snapcracle · 26/02/2024 19:50

This is one reason I’d never date anyone who is separated. It’s like why not just wait until you’re officially divorced to date?! I am not kissing someone else's legal husband!
It’s all just muddying the water and half the time they’re not really separated.

But anyway I’m not sure I would tell her, as I don’t know her and don’t know the effect it would have on her or if she even wants to know. Personally I would want to know but everyone is different..I’d just hope she finds out somehow. Tricky situation though.

MohairTortoise · 26/02/2024 19:54

I wouldn't tell her.
If he's got that many women on the go, she must feel something is off in the marriage.
She either knows and will possibly be humiliated that someone she doesn't know is pointing out flaws in her marriage, or she doesn't know and will be devastated.

takemeawayagain · 26/02/2024 20:12

I would only tell her if you have unquestionable proof because he is going to deny it - and without the proof she is just going to be caught in the middle in a complete mind fuck not knowing what is true.
