Is that Leukoplakia?

So I've had a sore throat on and off over the last year. April last year I noticed a little white patch at the back of my mouth when I was looking at my tonsils.
Just thought it might be an ulcer noticed it again a few months after thought it could still be an ulcer.
Then I had another sore throat this month and noticed it's still there but got bigger.
So decided to Google it saw it could be something called Leukoplakia and if left could turn cancerous. I've left it a long time so now I'm panicking.
Gonna try make a Dr appointment tomorrow but any one had anything similar?

Could it be a tonsil stone?

@Sspholidayquery I've been about tonsillitis before and they didn't think I had it and thought the white patch was a something to do with my sore throat.
Although I never noticed at the time the white patch was the same one that had been there for months

Do you have a dentist? Sometimes GPs are a bit reluctant/clueless with anything in the mouth. (Not their fault I don't think they get a huge amount of training with oral things) So if you can't see a GP or they seem a bit funny about it try a dentist. They are very experienced in referring to oral medicine for suspicious lesions etc if needed.
