Best way to transfer VHS tapes?

I’ve found some VHS tapes which I would like to transfer onto a different format. What’s the best way to do this? We don’t even have a DVD player anymore let alone a video player!!

If you can borrow a VHS player and borrow/buy something like this you can do it yourself with a laptop. If that’s not possible then I’d just outsource it - there are companies that specialise in this, just do a quick google.

What kind of service am I looking for on an internet search? Is there a specific name for the process I’m needing?
