Physio / back pain

Lilo1998xxxx · 26/02/2024 09:20

I had an opp a few months ago on 2 slipped discs which was very successful

I have been having physio, but I have noticed some back ache, nothing major but I am so paranoid about something happening to my back again

Could these news physio exercises be causing my bac aches ?

It’s quite typical after disc surgery for the previous leg pain to be swapped for back pain due to the operation itself. Your consultant should have talked you through this when going over the risks

@MaloneMeadow Yes my surgeon did talk me through possible things before surgery and I am very aware of that.

I was just curious if the mild pain I am experiencing could be from physio and new exercises I have been doing

Talk to your physio, but for me, yes, it ached a bit with the physio exercises after disc surgery, and then the move to weightlifting afterwards, but now my back and core is probably stronger than it was pre surgery, and if I stop going to the gym that's when it aches or occasionally even the nerve pain recurs - and goes away again when I get back to the gym and keep lifting...

Does take a while to settle fully though. As I recall it was 3 mths do very little, then physio for the next 3 months, then start very gentle and light weights from 6 mths+, and built it up from there.
