Full period at ovulation

Just wondering if anyone else has a full period at ovulation time? DD has had this since the summer. Extreme pain at period, no pain with the ovulation period. Both are very heavy. She’s tried the pill but it sent her batshit crazy (anxiety off the scale) plus I’ve had breast cancer so we’re not pursuing that anymore - it was only a short term measure anyway to get her through exams. She is 15 and we have an appt with the community gynae team soon, but just wondering if anyone else had experienced this and if jt stopped? She’s had periods since she had just turned 9. It’s just a lot of time bleeding heavily 🤨

You can’t have period at ovulation, the hormones don’t work in that order. I would suggest that she has very short cycles, which also need investigated. Or very heavy bleeding at ovulation, which is also abnormal. I hope she gets some answers soon.

@Mylobsterteapot I’m sure it’s ovulation. The timing is fairly exact. And she has no pain and terrible pain at her ‘normal’ period time which indicates one of the usual hormones isn’t in play? We are seeing the gynae team and have mentioned this to the GP. It stopped with the pill, but she can’t continue on the pill.

My other question is if she can be investigated for fibroids without an internal scan? She won’t have this - she won’t even try tampax.
