No. They look really nice, better than my (real) teeth!

GoodVibesHere · 24/02/2024 17:37

No they look like normal teeth to me

MaloneMeadow · 24/02/2024 17:37

Nope! Honestly I’d have no idea

I'm really surprised that they're dentures!

SprinkleTheMunchiesDust · 24/02/2024 17:49

No. They look great OP.

Did you ask them to put a ‘shape’ to the teeth?

I did when I got my dentures a couple of years ago. The dentist reacted like I was out of my mind but I was adamant I did not want that very straight wall of teeth look.

How are you getting on with them? I’m presuming they are yours I know .

Yes I did. Dentist helped me with suggestions. They are not dead straight. And also not white. There's very light staining between the teeth as well. To be honest I can't see it. Maybe I would if they were compared to others.

I have not been wearing then as I should. And I definitely can't eat with them. I don't think it helps that I have not had the top ones sorted yet. But im hoping once the bottom ones are set onto the implants I will be better with them.

Did you find anything to help you get used to them ?

Once they are clipped onto the implants they will be super sturdy OP and it’s always hard to hen you’ve had one set made and not the other quite yet. They look great though

Yeah that's what I'm hoping when I push down onto the screw bits it feels much better.

And yeah I'm hoping to get top teeth removed pretty soon and then I will have temporary dentures just hope they are better than the bottom ones were.

They look like normal teeth. They aren't straight, stained, they are quite uneven. Thus they look more natural, than these silly teeth some have, eg veneers, eg klopp awful teeth.

Oinkypig · 24/02/2024 18:37

If you hadn’t asked the question and were posting the picture to ask do I have a cold sore or something my eye definitely wouldn’t have been drawn to them. As a dentist I can see it’s a denture but it’s really nice.

You’ll be fine once they are fixed on implants and the upper should be easier to cope with.

Good luck for the rest of your treatment!

CherryRipe1 · 24/02/2024 18:38

They look great! Never would have guessed they are dentures.

WhoaJayShettybambalam · 24/02/2024 18:39

They look really natural! I’m surprised as I didn’t know that they could make them to look so ‘normal’.

BaroqueInterlude · 24/02/2024 18:41

Very natural looking.

@Oinkypig can I ask. With the top denture if it's being attached to implants does it still have a plastic bit on the roof of the mouth?

When I had mine done they were matched to the colour of my natural teeth . Assume that would be the norm ?

They look better than most dentures but yes, you can still tell that they are.

Oinkypig · 24/02/2024 21:00

@Shithole101 it depends on a few things best discussed with your dentist but assuming you are having a full upper clearance (no natural teeth) and planning an implant retained full upper denture. It should be possible not to have so much acrylic in the palate and have a more horseshoe shaped denture.
