What car to replace Hybrid Auris Estate?

Looking to replace my 10 year old car with something similar. I'm considering just buying the exact same car again (but newer) but would like to explore other options.

Current car: Toyota Auris 2014 Estate (Touring). It's a self-charging hybrid. It's the perfect car for us, such a work horse we've had no issues in the 8 years we've owned it.

New car requirements: We use every scrap of space inside so definitely need something the same size - although for parking reasons ideally no bigger. Doesn't actually have to be an estate shape though. Preference would be for a plug-in hybrid but would also consider a self-charging hybrid or pure petrol. Love a few toys/fancy options.

Really just looking for ideas of what model cars to look at but for anyone interested in budget: would ideally like a car that's 1/2years old with low mileage. Would pay upto £40,000 but obvs would prefer to pay less! TIA

We replaced our Auris touring sports with a RAV4 hybrid. We needed more space in the rear which always felt a bit cramped for adults in the Auris but without compromising boot space. So not quite the same requirements.

@InfoComet is the RAV4 wider on the outside? I like it a lot but we have a relatively narrow drive. I might look up the specs.

Just under 10cm wider I think.

CH-R hybrid?

Thanks; that's probably pushing it for us in our driveway and not needed I guess. We still have two kids in car seats so can't fit three adults in the back anyway.
