Pet cat

My cat loves following me round the house - she’s my little shadow. If I’m working at home she’ll be on my desk. If I’m cooking she’s watching me. Etc etc. She’s mainly a house cat. We’ve had her 3-4 years.

However I’ve noticed every so often she’ll have 2-3 days where she does her own thing, ie doesn’t follow me round, will sleep on her own etc. And then she’s straight back to being my shadow.

Does anyone else’s cat do this?! And know why? She’s perfectly fine I’m just curious.

Yes, mine does exactly the same.

Yeah, that’s a cat. My cat is the same and sleeps with me for a few nights then wanders off and does her own thing (still in the house) and then comes back like everything is the same (it is because she’s a cat!). We were laughing about how we always feel honoured when she chooses us to hang out with 😹. It’s a good lesson for the DCs. I said it’s perfectly normal for a cat to treat you like this but don’t ever put up with a partner doing this.

My DCat adjusts her routines around the weather. When the weather is fine she’s very independent but when it’s not she’s quite clingy.

Glad it’s not just us. Love cats. I agree @Hapagirl48 that cats can teach us many things

Yes, mine goes through phases where she’s very needy and clingy, and then phases where for reasons unknown she doesn’t seem to like me at all. No idea what’s going on in her little brain. She is much more consistently affectionate towards my husband. But when she’s scared or sad, she comes to me and sticks like glue.
