Tell me about a weekend in Liverpool please?

We are looking to go for 3 nights, have found a great Airbnb in the Georgian quarter.

From maps I can’t get a feel for where the ‘centre’ is for shops, bars and restaurants.

Where should we be heading? Any tips for a long weekend? We like site-seeing, walking around, nice pubs, the water.

thanks in advance!

Main shopping area is Liverpool One, Church Street and Lord Street. Bars and restaurants around Bold Street (top end of the city) as well as in Liverpool One and down at the Albert Dock. There are museums in the City Centre, at the Albert Dock (Maritime Museum - includes Titanic and Slavery), and the museum of Liverpool at the Pier Head, also near to where you can get a ferry across the Merseyside which is a great way to view the waterfront.

You can also visit the two Cathedrals - both very different in styles and situated at either end of Hope Street.

There is so much to do you will easily fill a weekend.

have a meal in Bold Street and buy something in the independent shops. They are great.
theres also a time slip in Bold Street, a few mumsnetters have seen it.

Nice places to visit are Leaf on bold street (very chilled vibe wine bar), Albert’s Schloss (German themed bar with live entertainment and disco toilets!) and Mowgli is lovely too.

on the docks you’ve got Maray for food and then Oh me oh my for drinks with a view over the Liver Building.

if you have a car or don’t mind the train there’s a bar at Crosby beach Called the bus yard which is an old bus that’s been turned into a bar. It’s a gorgeous place where you can see Anthony Gormleys another place.
Liverpool is the best city to visit 😂
