Still stressed after extension

I have just come to the end of a kitchen extension. It was much much harder work than I thought it would be.

Difficult to live through the mess and upheaval to our lives. But the main thing was the amount of planning, questions and decisions. I was up late into the night most nights ordering things or measuring for lights etc.

I thought that once it was done it would all feel great.

But I keep finding little things that are not what I thought they would be. But nothing major. I just feel quite low and not that excited about it really.

Is it normal to feel this much stress post-extension? Can anyone relate?

We finished ours last summer. The thought of having more tradespeople in fills me with dread.

I was home through all of it and was just awful. I’m not having anything big find ever again.

Ours isn’t as I had hoped and there are things that were rushed.

But, I love the space we’ve created and I’ve spent a long time getting it decorated right with some really nice bits and bobs.

I’m hoping I’ll mentally block it out soon! x

Maybe it will just take me time.

I feel completely overwhelmed by it all.

That's a good idea about moving on to decorating. I haven't done that yet. That might help me take some ownership of the space and make the house feel like mine again and a home rather than place of stress!

Definitely make it your own, it does make a difference x
